BG20 Summit 2022
This year’s BG20 summit will highlight the impact of inflation on the FMCG sector  by reviewing both recent and historical periods of high inflation, by discussing and evaluating manufacturer and retailer strategies to best cope with consumer reactions.

Some of the questions we will aim to answer by analysing our massive household panel datasets covering 50+ countries and more than ten years of back data:

  • How do shoppers cope with higher prices: downtrading, reducing consumption or shifting spend from other categories?
  • Do we see any differences across categories and consumer segments?
  • How does Private Label develop – do we see a similar leap as in past crises?
  • What about choice of retailer?
  • How does the financial squeeze that (some) households experience impact their priorities regarding healthy eating and sustainable choices?
  • Are manufacturers that offer brands at different price points better insulated against the crisis?
  • Innovations – do they also pay off in economic crises?

Expect 90 minutes of actionable insights by our BG20 experts as well as insights by consumer behaviour experts from GfK and Kantar Worldpanel
