The impact of inflation on FMCG
After ten years of very stable prices the economies of most markets experience inflation at levels that have not been reached for almost 50 years.While FMCG is less affected directly (compared to energy or various durables), a reduction of overall household purchasing power is likely to affect FMCG choices.
We will use this webinar to
- take a look back at the last period of elevated inflation levels (2008-2010) and how it affected FMCG purchasing
- share recent developments in the market and our expectations regarding the next couple of years
- put a spotlight on Private Label developments over the past few years – a candidate for growth given past evidence showing PL to experience much higher share gains in uncertain periods
