The Who Cares, Who Does eco-segmentation is defined on actions taken to reduce plastic waste at home and in store. In 2023, we see Eco-Actives as substantial, yet the smallest share of households. There is still work to be done to grow the Eco-Active segment.
More than 1 in 2 global shoppers find Global Warming and Water Pollution top sustainability concerns
58% of shoppers believe global warming and water pollution are top sustainability concerns (out of 11 concerns each respondent could choose 5). Air pollution, plastic waste and water shortage are all also top concerns for about 1 out of 2 shoppers. How are you addressing these sustainability concerns?
Governments are seen to be most effective when needing to limit environmental damage
40% of shoppers feel that governments can make the biggest impact on the environment. As a close 2nd , 1 in 3 shoppers believe manufacturers are best positioned to limit environmental damage. Retailers have an opportunity to prove to shoppers they too can make a positive impact on the environment.
